I know I still have few more in the tank, they might start their new colony. They all came out when I did the tank transfer.

I've never seen a very huge bristle worm like these in my tanks. Maybe 4 inches or so, tops.

I did have a Palolo worm, once, though. He was almost 5 FEET long!
Came here to say **** everything about that, if I saw a worm that big in my DT I would just call it a day and throw the whole tank out. That worm was almost taller than me LOL

I just looked in my tank yesterday and one of the bristle snakes I couldn’t catch was chopped in half & dead! The only likely culprit would be my fairly large pistol shrimp. I did notice that his little High Fin Banded Goby friend was all beat up so I wonder if there was some epic battle during the night. Everyone I care about is okay though.
Pistol Shrimp - 1, Bristle Snakes - 0!

I have a dozen or so that are between 2-3 feet long in my pest tank, and even on 2-3 day periods where I'd had to starve the tank out, I've never had one of my big guys go after anything else.

So I finally caught this HUGE bristle worm that had been evading us for months!! This guy was the original reason for this post all those months ago. Actually my husband caught him after waiting every night for 3 weeks to get him. He yelled with so much excitement when he finally got this guy while I scrambled to find something to put it in so I could snap the pictures below. This guy is well over 12” stretched out and not stretched, he’s easily 8-9” and his body is wider than my thumb. I sort of feel bad about getting rid of him since he lived so successfully for this long, but he’s gotta go.
Also, he was definitely graduating to eating bigger and bigger things. He pooped those rocks out that were in the bucket with him in the second pic. No thank you!!

Yup! And this guy managed to hide in my Fluval Evo for all this time too. He bored a perfectly round cave/hole right through my rock to live in. Blech!!
I made a video of my fireworms working as a couple . My cbb killed all but 1. She is more of a monster than my fireworms ever were :(
I really do miss seeing them out and about.
