I have two salt tanks

OK guys and girls I have to tanks one 75 one 20.. 75 Is Main tank two clowns and two Damsels that seem to be fine afraid to add anything yet, Little Tank the 20 has two clowns and two dun-kens that want open there not dead just want open. The question is I have chato in both tanks it not growing nor is it dead Main tank salt is 1.25 Little tank is 1.20 and Ideas why the chato want grow to bring down the nitrates? Been fighting them since my tanks crashed. Any thought's? Should I put the dun-kens in the large tank?

1.20 is really low for corals. Would raise that up for sure.

How much are you feeding and how often do you do water changes? Refugiums aren't magic cures, they just help curb problems.

I am assuming you are referring to Duncan corals and Chaeto macroalgae?

1. Alkalinity is way too low. Aim for 7-8. Calcium is a bit high on the contrary. Raising alkalinity should be a good first step.

2. Your phosphates are way too low.

Yes Kessil tuna suns I have tried a backing soda drip but I get it right then it falls again

Feed one a day water changes one a week

You have to keep it going. Whenever it falls again, you have to dose more.

No I haven't
I use the Hanna pro reef test kit
Not really sure if I am doing the test fully correct

Something seems super off. The calc and mag are too high for a salinity of 1.20. I would start by fixing the salinity and go from there.

A let’s correct all those typos. The specific gravity might be 1.020, but not 1.2. A sg of 1.020 is quite low and easily raised slowly.

Yeah, typos are not helping...

But since you mentioned that you're not sure if you're doing the tests correctly I would have an LFS test your water for you and report those numbers back.

Worldwide ocean average is about 1.0264, and 1.025 to 1.027 is a good target range.

Tested the new water today in the mixing station Alk is 8.4 dkh

Phosphate is 14 in what units?

Nutrients are not a good way to control algae. Herbivores are
A better plan.

Scraping the glass is pretty typical.
