alright... I'm looking at my tank and I seem to have an abundance of red/orange coloration... so I'll need to somehow offset all the red/orange with some easy to care for blue & green SPS... I'm a fan of birdsnest and digitatas... can you guys suggest of other ones that are pretty easy for a SPS newbie... pics would be awesome!!! :)

Thanks in advance...

Thanks man... :)

I'm really considering the ORA Green Birdsnest and Birds of Paradise... :)

I might stick with the birdsnest and digitats since I know I can keep them alive... :hammer:

ah... I see... I'm just more familiar with the two I mentioned... what species of SPS are considered hard to keep?

its hard to get a better green than a green slimer...fast grower too. I also like the green birdsnest. Gets a nice shape to it. As far as blues...the ORA blue tort is easy and a nice deep blue. pearlberry and hawkins are nice as well. Let me know if you are interested in any of the above...I'm local and very overgrown!! Always interested in trades..wink wink, nudge nudge.

Hey Marvin, for easier sps stick with the birdnests, montis/digis, and stags. Stay away from torts, efflos, echinatas, etc...
The SPS with closer/more polyps (the fuzzy/hairy looking sps) will be easier than the SPS with less polyps (most polyps are only on the tip of each branch, look smoother).
The more mouths (polyps) you have, the easier it is to eat (feed)!! lol
Good Luck

Marvin, you can never go wrong with Bird of Paradise. I'm loving mine.

PBPB - Pearlberry is a must have for me. PB in the background

Other sps that I have that are sweet is definetely the 20k and 30k Lokani's, they have great contrast, color and unique growth patterns.

Green Slimer is a must have too.

I don't have pictures of my Torts - but all of them are cool and bring a nice "flat" dark purple/greenish to the tank.

Green branching psammocora - hands down the brightest and hardiest green for the buck. When you can find one.

I'd suggest a tort, lime in the sky and a slimer. Three of my all time favorites.
