did a quick read on the medusa and some threads on them releasing toxins and wiping out tank

Yea idk what they truly are bc when I research they all look the same but I am going to buy a yellow coris wrasse

I would be careful about that and do a little more research . I know very little about these. Like I mentioned a quick search on Medusa resulted in thread with multiple people talking about complete fish death when medusa dies etc.

Could be just an old belief, however I would be doing research on what is best approach to remove. Maybe some kind of fish trap with food in it.
Maybe someone else could suggest what worked for them on bobbit etc..

If they are medusa worms a fish picking at them will have the same result of toxins being released.

How old is the tank?
Size?
Where did the rocks come from?

you have corals and fish currently?

The tank is a week old.
The rocks are real reef rocks that cured.
I have no fish or corals just snail and inverts!

oh well I know what I would be doing and you probably do not want to hear it but I would be starting over. Look at threads about cleaning the rocks etc..

If there are as many as you say there are and floating around I bet your water is already toxic "if medusa". Probably sucked up pumps etc..
Do yourself the favor start over, you are only a week in and you will never be happy if you do not

+100 ^^^^^ take rock out and place in salt water tub and let "cook" for six months to rid of these worms. or throw it out and start over. make sure to clean entire tank, including sand to make sure they are gone.

I refuse to use any live rock in my tank for this very reason. Even starting with man made, having brought corals in, I have found plenty of hitch hikers.

Edited to say that after more research and help from those smarter than me, I believe that one of the pics is actually not a harmful worm. I also remember back to the days of using live rock and all the crazy things that came out of it. It was pretty terrifying at first, but my tank was none the worse for it.
I now have taken a different stance on hitchhikers and prefer a more controlled environment, thus my reaction and desire to cook that rock. both views are valid and have pros and cons.

No I don't have any flow pumps just the return as flow in my tank, they float around on purpose to go to other areas of the tank! But I'm going to take it to the fish store I bought it from and get this resolved asap!!

Didn't know the tank was only a week old.
In that case just take out rock and sand.
Clean sand and let it dry for a day or three.
Bleach the rock for two days in a trash can with regular faucet water and one gallon of bleach.
Bleach will kill everything in and on the rock.
Than cure the rock on salt water for a week.
And you ready again.
