I think i made a big mistake

So today i got a female Halichoeres Marginatus wrasse 1.5 inches long and didn't know the fish could get up to 7 inches.

The thing is, i currently i own a 24g nano. A new 47g tank + 34g sump is on the way the following weeks.

I'm ticked partly because of my own stupidity of buying something without proper research (it's going to be hard to say goodbye once it grows). And partly because the store should've told me.

I wouldn't mind getting a bigger tank down the line economically speaking, but since i rent a place and like to move around, i'm really doubting it.

How long would i be able to keep it in the new system (47g tank + 34g sump) before i have to relocate it?

Maybe a year. They tend to grow pretty fast. I am sure you will find another reef keeper who will happily take it. Although, not sure how it works down there.

7" noted is maximum and count on 5" . If tank is at least 30", you have much time

The scene is quite good specially in the capital where i live, so i should be able to find a new home for it.

I’d say you have Atleast a year before she hits 3 inch, my chloropterus is 2 years old currently and he is about 4.5 inches in my 4’x2’ tank. He grew rather fast up until recently and began to slow down in growth. I have seen the same pattern in my other Halichoeres I have owned. My current iridis grew quite fast till he got to around 2 inch then slowed down in growth and is currently around 3.5 inch. My old Leucoxanthus showed a very similar growth rate to the iridis.
