I have a 36 gallon with snails should I get crabs or should I get a yellow tang to clean this up

A yellow tang would be mighty unhappy in that size tank, is the one in your profile pic in a different tank? If thays the case you could maybe stick him in there for a few days and see if he will clean things up and then move him back to the larger tank . Or try h2o2, there are a bunch of threads here on its use against algae:)

That is of course without going into the whole problem with your nutrient export and the bio diversity in your tank and all that other easily searched out answers.

Okay I'm confused I had a local fish store you're telling me it was good algae should I worry about it I'll just let it be

I haven't used them for algae control, but I've heard they are pretty much the best at it... But I just introduced fresh water mollies into my frag tank just for kicks, and they are going great. they basically pick at everything all day long. It's not even that hard to get them to salt as they are technically brackish fish. I started them in 500 ml of pet store water (fresh), added 500 ml of my tank water (salt), waited about 30 minutes, added another 500 ml of my tank water, waited another 30 minutes, then added them right into the tank. They never showed any signs of stress at all throughout the process. This may be a viable option for you, also likely your cheapest option. As getting a handful of mollies at $2-3 each will be much cheaper than getting a few dozen extra snails, or crabs, or sea hare. Notice i mentioned "extra" snails and crabs as you should most definitely have a good clean up crew with at least snails and possibly some hermits.

I've had the best luck with trochus snails. All five of my turbos died within a year (it may have been my fault, but I'm not sure). I've only lost one trochus and they do pretty good work on keeping the algae down.

I like astraeas for the glass and rock work. I do have a couple trochus but I never see them out much.
Scarlet hermits for the bulk of the detritus and extra food that doesnt get eaten.
I also have a brittle starfish (not the minis) that roams around too. Very rarely do I ever need to flip the astraeas on their right side.

I put the bulk of the scarlets in my sump so they can take care of the detritus build up in there lol

Reduce nutrients, Something is feeding it. You may also try H2O2. Lots of threads on this.
