Is this some type of Cyano growing on the rocks

Cyano clean is a bacterial species that helps combat Cyano.

Patience, removal by hand, perhaps increasing flow, and help from bacterial supplements tends to do the trick.

I wouldn't scrub it. If it's cyano, I would suck it out while doing water changes. But getting more flow down there will help keep it away

This seems like a "to good to be true" product.
Have you personally used it?
I’ve used it in two separate tanks. Dosed a few drops per day for about 5 weeks in my 40 gallon breeder and I think I remember it being day 4 or so of dosing where all of a sudden the Cyano patches were no longer blanketing rock structures and sand. It took 5 weeks for it to completely disappear but it was like a miracle solution. Never saw any negative side effects. Corals and fish thrived.

Used it in my 210 gallon. Also with great results. Still have a small patch here or there but mostly gone. It’s been 2.5 weeks. In this tank Cyano came about after I used a coral food that I don’t typically use and it came with a vengeance.

Can I say 100% that it was the Cyano clean? Absolutely not. Do I believe it helped both times? Yes.

I did try Chemiclean in the 40 gallon prior to trying Cyano clean and it seemed to work but then came back stronger than before. This treatment with Cyano clean seems to work but any time you’re fighting an established bacterial film with a new bacterial strain it is going to take time to work.

Everyone has their opinions and experiences. I can only share mine.

Thanks

I'm wondering if it's really an antibacterial product. Wouldn't be the first time the public was mis-lead.

Recommendations actions without using chemicals

- Increase flow to the area.
- Reduce light intensity.
- Reduce light cycle duration.
- Siphon off.
