What kind of algae is this? It's been like this for a couple months and I'm not sure what is going on in this tank. So what is it and what can I do about it?

Its common green hair algea.
Requires nitrates phosphate and lots of light to grow.
I would reduce nitrates down to 5-10ppm phos 0.01-0.05 and cut out hours on lights.
You can try 3 days black out to kill some or most of it.
