Bare bottom 35g tank, 8 months old, dry rock (with a few rocks from my lfs display on the sump) 4 small fishes, 6 turbo snails, 2 hermits, 1 peppermint shrimp and a tuxedo urchin.
Just a few corals: 1 torch, duncan, red goniopora, favia, 1 rodactis, 3 acans and a couple of zoas, all doing fine.
Eq: radion xr 15 (80-100 par on the bottom, 150-200 par on the tallest rocks). 8h day with 30min ramp up and down.
Filter roller, skimmer (started this week), auto water changer 1,5% daily (stoped this week).
1x gyre xf330 at 10% and 2 other small power heads. Flow seems good, except on the back left of my tank and a spot on the center where detritus collects.
I dose AFR, alk is 8,2 to 8,6 VERY consistent at least for 3 months. Mg 1450, ca 400.
History: my tank is changing nuisance algae since the begining. All normal as far as i know, bare bottoms looks to be trickier. First diatoms and then numerous cycles of GHA.
Nutrients has always been low, nitrates at 2,5-5 and I had 0 po4 on the last 4 months, but since i had gha i assumed the algae was consuming it. Corals looked pale tho.
My last gha cycle ended 2 weeks ago, except in some spots, and some snot started to appear on the rocks and on top of the algae. Fearing of dinos I stopped doing wc and started dosing po4 (now between 0.12 and 0.19) - i looked at some posts on other users having marco rocks absorbing phosphates aswell. LPS looks happier then ever, torch extended, gaining color and splitting. Gha still reciding but the snot continues (not worsening tho).
Snails and other inverts seems fine, tuxedo is eating some of it.
Installed a UV yesterday, no results yet.
I do know that I need a microscope for an ID, but am out of budget for now. Any help on how should i proceed?

Edit: i only see bubbles on a few spots. Brown stuff seems to be better in the morning and get worse on the evenings.

First photo seems misleading. Im positive that the white stuff is detritus, not a single bubble there. Im only seeing bubbles nesr my blue hornet zoa

Suck some up in a turkey baster and filter through a paper towel into a glass. Let stand for 5 or 10 minutes then examine. If it has clumped back together it is Dinos. No scope needed. Microscope is only needed to ID the genus as some are controlled with increased nutrients and UV while other species (genera) not so much.

This looks like green hair algae to me. I’ve been pretty deep in the battle with Dino. There are different types of Dino’s though. I’ve provided pics of my Dino’s and they have been identified at something that starts with a P lol.

I just did the test and no clumps. Also did the peroxide test on another sample and no bubbles. So no cyano or dino from the tests.
Gonna return to the auto water change routine as it seems just another ugly stage

Never saw gha with mucous strings in between. Just did some tests without a microscope and negative results for both cyano and dinos
