Hi all,

This white mossy mass has slowly grown on my Duncan frag. Recently it has developed these cylindrical growths with little branches on it; there are a handful of those.

In the attached picture I have circled the entire mass and am pointing to one of the growths.

The closest ID I could find is a pineapple sponge? But it's not exactly like the pics I have seen...

Thanks!

Sponge...scrape it off.

Great. Done and done.

Since sponges are generally regarded as good for the tank, is it worth trying to salvage by scraping into the refugium? Or is it better to just let the chaeto live there on it's own?
