ID please! What’s ‘growing’ around my skimmer?

Hi Reefers

can anyone identify for me what is growing/floating around my skimmer and next to my downflow pipe?

I have removed it a couple of times but it keeps coming back..

I'm no expert but it looks like a tube worm (?). I have literally hundred in the chamber where my skimmer is. Harmless filter feeders than remind me of a miniature feather duster.

I assume you are referring the stringy material. My guess is bacteria.

Well du. I was looking at the first pic and saw the white thing and it looked like a tube worm. All my cords are black lol. Time to get the old eyes checked.

There are very few specific explanations in this hobby when it comes to microscopic life. White = Bacteria, Colored = Photosythesizers is sometimes where the analysis stops

Assuming you’re talking about the Timor, I doubt that would be a slimecoat. It may be a mucous cucoon if you have any fairy or flasher wrasses or similar wrasses.
