This was sold to me as a Dendro, but I'm not so sure. I would appreciate some opinions on it. Thanks

Definitely a Dendrophillia a.k.a Sun Coral.
Prefers very low lighting and loves meaty foods :) I love mine!

Are the Dendro and sun coral the same thing? Here I thought they were two seperate species.

Dendrophyllia is the genius. Yours looks to be one of them. Can be called Sun Coral.
Marine Species Identification Portal : Genus Dendrophyllia

Tubastrea is usually called Sun Coral. But "Sun Coral" is a common name and has no backing to it. So either Dendrophyllia or Tubastrea can be Sun Coral. It all depends on how specific you want the coral's name to be.
Marine Species Identification Portal : Orange cup coral - Tubastrea coccinea

Lighting requirements do not matter because it is not photosynthetic. But darker areas are preferred to keep algae off the skeleton. Moderate water flow and regular feeding is a must.
