I don't trust these guys period. Ive seen them eat algae and ive seen them eat Zoas
They break off a leg which they grow back. That broken leg becomes a new star. That new and existing star breaks off a leg and does the same. Then the two new ones do the same. . . . Now do the math. You can have dozens in NO time flat

Agreed with the asterina starfish. Best to remove them if possible.
