Way to crush my dreams
You know as well as I do that I probably have no say in this decision. I can only hope & try to get my way.

To be honest, I think New Orleans (where I'm from) is gonna be high on my list if this all comes to fruition.
But the boss (my wife) is insisting we give all other options due consideration. She's one crawfish hating lady!
You know MACNA isn't hosted there every year, right? [emoji16]
Someone above had a decent suggestion of Mobile, AL (but he suggested a 'burb called Spanish Fort) and I'd have to say I agree. I'm not sure about the reefing community down there but it's fairly strong in the states 3 other "big" cities. In Mobile, you're only 2 hours from NO, it's in a pretty progressive area of the state.
I'm in Birmingham and absolutely love it. Bham just got voted the #1 up and coming good city, schools in the burbs are some of the best in the region. It's extremely affordable as long as you're not trying to live in homewood or mountain brook. 3 LFSs, Tons of concerts and activities. Only thing missing is top-tier sports but that's slowly coming along with UABs return to football and minor league soccer team getting big sponsorships.
Tbh I'm mostly posting because I'm curious to see what else gets suggested.
Hey Idoc I'm from Ohio and except 2 months it's not that bad here
@Humblefish what ever you do don't go to New Mexico, cost of living is cheap but that's about it. If I could to my wife into it I would already be back in Louisiana probably the Houma or Thibodaux area love it down that way other than the fact your gonna get fat.
Other than reef keeping and making your wife work, what hobbies do you guys enjoy?
wilmington, nc
Yeah, I used to live in Gardnerville, which isn't that far from Reno. I loved Nevada!Ah! We have beautiful Lake Tahoe and many smaller lakes within a two hour drive. We also have 24 hour liquor sales, casinos and no state tax. Going east, we have the Black Rock dessert. Can't forget the world famous Mustang Ranch!
Your budget would allow some nice options here. People are friendly. No turnstiles. A smaller scale version of Nashville. Much less traffic.Knoxville, TN area.
I can't remember, when did you want to set up the appointment with the realtor? ;TrollIn about a week, my wife & I will be visiting the Clarksville - Nashville area.
Any recommendations for good towns maybe halfway in-between the two? The problem is I will be making weekly runs to the airport, and Clarksville seems a little far away. TIA

We made the move from the east cost a year and a half ago. smartest thing I've done in the last 27 years. I'd say 28 but I married my wife 28 years ago.. housing is affordable.. so are the utilities.. 20 minutes to the airport.Knoxville, TN area.

My wife has a "thing" about that. We used to live across the river from one.
