Not dimmable, they are fixture's and you plug them in. What are the dimensions of your 12g tank? I use a 150w led on my frag tank which is only around 12-15g fwiw and get great growth. That 90w is really only pushing 70.2w as each led is driven to .78w.

Yep, that light should be plenty for you. I would run that fixture about 4-6" from the surface, that way you'll get decent par value's down low.

are you talking about the 90w or larger watt

is it possible to not hang a pendant from the ceiling??

I'm talking about the 90w fixture you linked to. I run a led that sits on an acrylic stand i made. The acrylic holds it up on the two outer sides of the fixture. They don't get hot at all, just don't block the fans.

Ok

it wouldnt be to bright for chalices would it

and do you have a picture of your stand?

Should be fine for chalice. Let me try and find a pic, its just two pieces of acrylic i glued on my sump to turn into a frag sump : ) Works great. Crap, no pic. I can pry take one tonight for you though. Just hit me up later and i'll snap one.
