Ummmmm. Tampa Bay Saltwater Rock. 6 months and this is only the base
I have a nice orange tunicate but hard to get a picture. Cup coral is growing pretty well.
And no…absolutely no bacterial dosing or chemicals in this system. Crazy.
And that’s Üter chowing down on the shrimp I just gave her. This morning was two local oysters.

Todays task. Finally making a mount for the RODI so it’s portable. Will make it easy to pull out when changing filters but leave under the cabinet for use. Left the waste line and output lines long to reach the bathtub for any accidental spills. Tomorrow I’ll probably actually plug the hoses in.

So I hooked up the booster pump finally. Went from 32psi to90psi and had to turn it down some to 80. Seems to run now at about 1 gallon per 7 minute.

And I really think this girl knows the camera is there. Might have to mount it on the other side of the room. Who’s watching who?

I thought I had good news this morning when I saw this. But then fished it out and realized it was just the shed. So we’re getting bigger unfortunately. And Üter hung out in the corner for a while after the water change.

Finally got the other nem guard so I can install the other MP40. Going to leave it off for a few days so she gets used to it being there and doesn’t get upset. Thinking one a foot in from the front and one a foot in from the back on opposites sides to make a slight vortex. Or will place directly across from each other when I find out what works. Only guards I could find that have the smallest sluts in the front. Seriously the size of the stock Vortech I can fit my thumb through.

This pin cushion road in on the TBS live rock at 1/4”. It’s now 1.5”.

We still seem to like thawed frozen shrimp but no longer a fan of oysters lately. Still snacks on snails so added a few nassarius and Trochus. Is not a fan of Astrea or Margarita snails at all. Was hoping she’d take care of the ones upside down so I don’t have to keep righting them each morning when they fall off the glass. From what I’ve read, when there’s an abundance of edible critters, they will typically go for the ones with the highest fat content first.

And one of the Mermaid fans I bought sprouted a little shoot.

Past 2 days she has stayed in her den except for lights out. Hoping she’s not laying eggs or protecting them but eventually that will probably happen. I believe she has reached full size. Can easily reach top to bottom of tank. (18” water depth and rocks are ~10” off the sand) And always attracted to the camera. I tried placing the camera on the opposing wall but then it’s too far away. I can’t imagine putting her in the 55gal as minimum recommended size.

While grocery shopping today I found a set of baby keys in the baby section. Seems to like them. I wish they sank. Everything I find floats.

Unfortunately Üter died over night. Where I go from here I am not sure. But I'll do a water change then decide later. I know they have short lives and and glad I was able to try it. He was also quite large when I got him. My dog also unfortunately died Wednesday. So not a good week. Was a very loved pet and will be missed very much. We ha been through a lot together over 14 years.

a bit of warning..

These things CLOG up til no tomorrow.
I get random stuff stuck inside, like mysis which can not get dislogged, or even algae from using my magnetic scrapper.

It requires constant cleaning, which is why i want to get rid of mine once my anthias grow up a bit more.

My condolences... my dog is getting there too, she's 12... and i am dreading that day as its approaching fast.
