Looked back and saw no Nuvo discussion thread and many Nuvo builds of all sizes. Please feel free to point me in the right direction if I missed it.

First thought, this tank has beautiful glass and lines, it's a sleek tank.

Skimmer will hopefully be my current Tunze 9001 Doc, I think I can make it work in the back.
Lighting 4 bulb ATI T5, had this fixture for years and never found a use for it, good bye shimmer. :(
SmartATO.
Deeper sand bed, have not done that in a while.
MP10 and Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6045.

How deep is your sand bed?

Who has changed out the back pump for the 20 gallon and what pump did you choose?

What heater did you go with, watts?

What skimmer are you using? I have used IM Ghost skimmer and hated it.

The lid is pretty cool, are you using yours?

;Stig

Don't you hate when people post images of empty tanks? :p

I've been very impressed with my 14 peninsula.

I'm running a black box on mine since it fits the dimensions of the display close enough to perfect. I'm not really worried about the hotspot. I'm pretty sure it's hotspot is my entire tank anyways.

I replaced my pump with a sicce 1.0.
I don't run it with a lid.

Great, now I've gotta get another tank so I can be a part of this thread! Lol. I'm thinking we all need to pitch in and send Mr. Carlos Spiceyweiner a nuvo tank.... Even empty that tank looks good.

That would be great! Truth be told I am taking down my jbj 45 rl, just can not make that tank work.
I am almost positive Vinny has a tank laying around.;)

I like the peninsulas a lot.

Thank you for the recommendation, decent priced pump, 255 gph is still better than 211 gph. :)

I think the ATI T5 will be perfect for Micromussa and lower light acropora. I have a Hydra but I do not like the shading, I will so miss the shimmer though.

I have had an IM 20 running now for over a year.

2 prime HDs
IM Ghost
InTank baskets on each side
100 watt heater
Sicce 1.5
IM spinstreams
MP10
Micro ATO
Jebao doser

Mainly SPS with some LPS

I did not like the cover as not enough light was coming through so went with BRS.

Really nice!!!!

It's probably inevitable that the lid will change for lighting purposes.

Where did you position the Micro ATO?

What mode is the Mp on?

I’m running a Nuvo 20 with the following equipment:

4 x 24” ATI T5 lighting
BRS screen top
Maxijet 1200 return pump
Reef Octopus Classic H100 skimmer
50 watt heater
2 x Gyre XF230
Minimax Desktop reactor (GAC)
Media baskets in both overflow chambers with sponges and ceramic media
Chaeto in one of the second chambers with 2 x 10 watt eBay red/blue plant led on the back
ATO Micro top-off
BRS CO2 scrubber on skimmer air intake
Neptune Apex Classic controller
2 x Neptune DOS dosing pumps

I’m keeping mainly SPS frags with a couple of LPS and zoas. In this tank the ATI fixture is capable of producing over 500 PAR in the top half (I measured this with an Apogee SQ-520 PAR meter), so you should have more than enough light to keep whatever you like.

I run the ATO in the pump compartment. I keep the water line about 1/2 " below the slimmer chamber.

MP10 is set at reef crest and I run it about 1/2 power. I might need to add a small power head on the right side. My neon hammer and my three montis are block flow some.

The BRS top is fine and was going to splurge on an Artfully Acrylic but going to move to bigger tank soon for more fish.

Sure hope you have a build thread.

HOB skimmer right? It's rated higher?

I am thrilled to hear that about the fixture, you have no idea.

The ATO on inside of one of the baffles? The one in the overflow compartment?

^ Would you please. I am stumped as to how you have the dry side positioned. TIA

On another front it does make a huge difference when you remove the white screen lid, is a pretty visible improvement intensity wise.

Here you go. Sensor is of course at water line. RO water Return comes into same middle back compartment.

Thanks. :). My confusion was that the sensor could not pick up through a tint in glass, good to know.

The Tunze 9001 comline is not going to do what this skimmer is designed to do in this tank, back to the drawing board.

ATI fixture looks more than sufficient, add a deep sand bed and I think I am ok for acropora. I have to look at the combo I have now, I believe it's ATI Purple and Coral, with the other two Giesemann, I will have to confirm that and what bulb.

Added a stone fish:

Your tank is looking good :)

I have the nuvo 20. My stock pump quit working so I replaced with a Sicce 1.5 I like it a lot. I have one spin stream, and one stock return. Running an orbit loop system with an 18" and 24" light strip. Also attached to the loop are 3 615gph powerheads. The ghost skimmer has been good enough for me so far.

Nice new setup Tahoe! What happened to the jbj 30 and 45?

The JBJ 28 houses the soft corals and 4 fish.
The JBJ 45 gallon was the tank of doom, I just could not work in that tank or with it, took it down finally and I am so happy with that decision.
The JBJ 30 was a great tank but I decide 1.5 years ago to upgrade to the 45, mistake.
The IM 20 is coming along great, got Lightenings moved over, sps (growing and looking fantastic), Hippopus moved over and it's happy. Designed the bomb of a minimalist scape structure that is cooking in another container, first scape I have really been happy with in years. Will post up some pics next week after I add the scape and it's all in place.

Yes I have a problem, first step is admitting it. ;Shy

Taggin along on this thread. I have the Nuvo 40.

I have the eheim 100w heater.
I used to have the lid that came with it but I think the light is not penetrating so I remove it for now.
The light is Kessil 360w.
I currently have the Ghost skimmer and it is ok for now but saving $ for something. I have the Aquamaxx hob1 sitting in the garage bec I don’t like the way it looks.

It is ugly but it's a beast of a skimmer! Definitely does what it is suppose to do.

We all have problems! I think you've made some good decisions! :D
