I'm stumped. I've never seen anything like this before...

I woke up at 3:00 a.m. this morning and since I couldn't fall back asleep I decided to get up and start my day. When I flipped on the lights in my office, I glanced at the tank and saw what I thought was a part of the anemone's foot stuck to the glass beside it. As I watched, the foot thing suddenly took off. It moved down the side of the tank, slid across the bottom, and went to go hide under a rock. I've never seen this thing in my tank before and I have no clue what it is. The thing is about the size of a half dollar, white and completely flat in appearance and moves like a slug/snail but really fast! Any ideas?

I've had those in the past...this is something completely different. I'm thinking this might be some kind of flatworm.

Now the question is, is it good or bad? I wish I would've scooped it out when I saw it just to be on the safe side.

Imo if I don’t really no the hiker there out . I don’t know anything about them but some members will no if it’s reef safe .

I'm not positive but it looks like some type of white polyclad flatworm. From what I've read they are not reef friendly, can be toxic to the touch so wear gloves while removing.

Try a water bottle with food in it or something… frozen shrimp etc..

Try not to break it. Pieces will survive as individual flatworms. A bunch of different Wrasse eat flatworms Six line, Yellow Coris, Melanurus etc.

I tried that a week ago to get a pistol shrimp out. All I caught were some cerith snails.

This thing is roughly 3 inches long and an inch wide. I'm planning on trying to suck it out with some tubing or using a baster to get it off the glass so I can scoop it out with a net.

My tank is a no fish setup so wrasses aren't an option.

I have an elephant Snail in my sump. He's awesome at cleaning it. I've relocated him back to DT twice and he finds his way back to sump thru plumbing. I can't pull him of the glass so I use a plastic scraper and it pops right off. Then I can grab it and move it around the sump.
