Lacking a sump, I have wires and tubes coming into the tank over the edge. What can I use to anchor these to the glass at various points under water that is (1) removeable (even if a razor blade is required) (2) obviously, reef safe (3) discrete (tiny and black) (4) inexpensive? I have looked at various magnets but can't find one that is reef safe and configured with a cable clip that is cheap. I am currently using suction cups, but they ... suction 😉. I'm tired of going into the tank every day or two to reattach something.

TIA

I use black velcro to wrap it around the bundle of wires. The wires are held down outside of the tanks though.
Can you share a pic for us to figure out the issue?

Velcro ties are the best advice I can give!

Hi, thanks. I already have wires bundled outside the tank. Here is a short video of what I am trying to stop:

Okay, I am considering using a tiny dab of the gel cyanoacrylate that I use to mount frags. This would be on the back of plastic clips and mounted under the waterline on the glass. This would be more permanent than I had hoped, but even an eventually unused black clip will be less of a distraction than a suction cup flopping around in the flow, imo. Thoughts?

I only have two wires coming off of the tunze power heads and I don’t let it bother me, I have been anti cable in tank for 20 years when running Vortechs. But they don’t do what I need them to do in this peninsula tank.

What is it that you want to hold in place under the water? Knowing that will help better recommend options. Additionally you could on the OUTSIDE of the tank use those little sticky zip tie squares and use Velcro zip ties to anchor wires.

I have:
2 powerheads on opposite sides of the tank with cables routed on the sides and on the back glass, then over the back edge.
1 temperature probe.
1 earth ground electrode.
1 canister filter inlet, suction cup (OEM) mounted to inside back glass, and one return mounted the same.
1 Airline tubing (to bubble wand).
1 heater power cord.
1 heater, suction cup mounted to back glass near the bottom.
All this eventually is routed over the back edge.
