In too deep, 800 gallon experiment build

Yes, I'm turning my garage into a coral farm. I told my husband we needed the 800g for a list of reasons that sounded convincing and he fell for it lol. Seriously though I got it super cheap and it just makes me happy. I have been working on it day and night since it came in. Last night baby raccoon came in to investigate the new set up and looked me straight in the eyes as he went through my stuff. I feel like he was thinking, "Lady, when do you sleep?!"

I’m not at that stage of the build yet lol. However, I’m planning on leaving a big open area to stand in case I need to go back in it later. I also added lots of big sand shifters

When you think about this tank in every detail, you must view in at an industrial sense. You have jumped past the hobby grade in all aspects. The unfortunate thing is, it is way bigger for hobbyists equipment but on the small side for industry. You will have to get creative, but be cost efficient at the same time. What is your filtration going to be? It looks like a great, fun challenge.

He does look happy lol. But now that you mentioned it, I do need both shoes and a handbag, mine are all a few years old and have water damage. I hate shopping for that crap so I'll just wait till someone gifts me that for Christmas.

I am custom building my sump with a pond liner. It's 10 feet long with chambers for all the different types of filtering. Right now I'm using the canister filters since I need to use the pool as a work station and sump.

I would just use one of the Rubbermaid troughs for a sump. Any skimmer or reactor will probably be external. You just need a place for your media, heaters etc. @Tidal Gardens ran those and still are running those. It will be quick and easy and you can concentrate on more important things at the moment.

I might do that. I have several 110 gallon black containers plumbed together already for my house sump.
