IM release a 240g today. My goodness is it a beast! I never realized that they were so short. I'd perfer 24" to be honest. I wonder why they decided to go so shallow. The whole crate with stand and sump weights less than 1000 pounds. It's only $5100 for tank and stand. Id go with a bigger sump than they offer. This is a viable option for someone in the market for a monster reef...

I always like the shorter height. Their 170 EXT would be my next choice for a tank

What I do know is that my 30" tank is a royal pain in the behind. If I could only go back 15 years... I also have a 40b which I think is 16" and it's way too short for a reef. I think 24" is the way to go. I'd still probably buy this tank right here if I knew what I know now 15 years ago. I could make it work. The reason I enjoy the higher tanks is it gives the fish free area to swim while still allowing one to reach the bottom of the tank relatively easily. The 30" depth should make up for it though. Having 3 perspectives on a tank is really cool although designing the aquascape has to be significantly tougher.

IM makes an amazing tank for people that don't have glass cages kind of money to "invest". I am grateful that they are in the market! I doubt that I ever get a chance to upgrade, but if I hit the lottery, I'm getting an IM.

I love the dimensions! If this were a peninsula it would probably be my dream tank!
