Hi all,
little about myself. My name is Lee. Started reefing back in 2000.
Last spring I had to take down my 70 gallon reef tank due to a home renovation. The tank was in our kitchen. Although it took a lot of room in our small space. We all enjoyed it for the 5 years I had it.
August last year, I was going back and forth on setting up a new tank. End up getting a used tank from a local reefer.
This is my first time owning an innovative marine tank. I have to say, I really like the build quality.
My plans
6-7 fishes ( tangs, dart fish goby, clown)
Some high-end Sps, monti, and torches.
All dry rock and seed with bacteria.
Flow is provided by a jebao DC return pump, MP10
Light- 2 radion xr 15 gen 6
Dosing - Kalk reactor on echo tech versa and manual dosing magnesium.
Tuze top off and BM cure 5 elite.
I did a 2 month fishless cycle. It was hard for me to resist the temptation of putting something in the tank everyday.
In my old tank I used 2 part ,but I think since its only a 50 gallon with some frags in the beginning, I will manually dose Alk and cal until the demand goes up. I will be setting up a kalk reactor for it.

I have been dosing acro power, brightwell NO3 & PO4 by hand daily just to keep the levels up. With some expensive corals in the tank, I am not taking any chances. 1.5 gallon water change daily as well.

Nice job so far! I have the same tank. How are you liking it so far?
Thanks man! I wish my tank stand was white in color like yours. It really stood out in my kitchen‍♂️, however I just have to live with it…
As far as for the tank, I loved it. Although it is small in size but actually because of the unique dimension, I was able to play around with the Aquascape. It is also build like a tank. I think when it’s time for me to upgrade, I will get another innovative marine tank.:)

Today ups dropped off the light track. I also got a 3d printed bracket for an additional light in the middle. ( kessil 360x ) it’s probably an over kill, but I had it lay around in the storage.

Yesterday, I ordered about 20lb of gulf live rocks. Corals are doing okay, but just sitting in the spot and wasn’t doing much. I know it’s still a young system. Planing to add more micro biome with live rocks from the ocean. I have use this vendor in the past. They have good quality live rocks.
Meanwhile, I am setting up a 10 gallon tank for cooking. Its winter and cold out, let see how they are when they get here.

Rocks here. USP delivers next day air and had a delay with the airline. So I had to wait another day. Anyways, they seemed okay. Plus Dan from gulf live rock was nice enough to even let me know if anything happened he will work something out. They arrived in solid condition and smell like the ocean. So I’m cool. Did find bunch of hitchhikers like crabs and a small mantis shrimp on the bottom of the bag.
