I just installed two of the intank media baskets in my 32 gal fluval flex and I noticed that the water level in the middle chamber is about 1” below the level at the filter chambers where the boxes are installed.
the water is trickle into the filter boxes but not too much.
is that how it si supposed to work??

According to the the picture of the flow, you're perfect fine. It should be a bit lower than the side cambers. Looks like there is opening on the sides of your basket where water flows through also. I would suggest having filter floss at the bottom of your basket not the top, or you could have both and whatever media you want in the middle for the best filtration. Weird design, but I guess that's why they use a foam block for filtration and not a basket from factory.
