If it's flukes. Prazipro works well and is easy.
Where can I get this stuff. I do not have s QT right now so the medication has to be reef safe. I am also just about to start using chemipire blue. Will this work as a good "just in case"For intestinal worms Metroplex is the drug of choice. It's best done in a QT, but it's possible to feed the Metro in his food coupled with Seachem's Focus to bind it there and make it reef safe. Running carbon during this time is a good idea as a "just in case" measure.
Good to know thanks.Long and stringy would not be flukes. Flukes look like sesame seeds.
Also, will he be ok. He is my favorite fish I have and I do not want to loose him
Thank you!!!Chemipure Blue I believe is a filter media and will not help with intestinal worms. Metroplex can usually be found at most LFS's (not petco or walmart) along with Focus. You may want to call around and see which ones have it near you before driving all over heck and back looking for them.
With good nutrition he could be ok for quite a while. I've heard of fish lasting a long time with intestinal worms, but then I've seen them stop eating and succumb within a week.
Thank you!!!
So I jut get the 2 medications, soak his food in them and feed it to him?
Is it ok for the other fish to eat the medicated food also?
Thank you so much. This is the first disease or infection my fish have gotten and I have had my tank for almost a year (knock on wood). I lost a fire fish when he went carpet surfing though.Yeah they will be ok. Follow the directions on the package for duration. I believe it's 3 scoops Focus to 1 scoop Metro for the binding.
This is a little confusing to me :confused:These fish medications contain Metronidazole powder:
- Seachem Metroplex
- Metro-MS (made by FishVet, Inc.)
- Metro+ (made by Hikari)
- API General Cure is a prazi/metro mix
This is a little confusing to me
What does all of this mean?
Sorry, I am new to diseases :p
OK :) Thank you so much.Bobby was giving you a list a medications that contain Metro. That way if you couldn't find Metroplex then you'd be able to still give the fish the right med through a different brand
OK :) Thank you so much.
Can the worm pass on its own your do you have to give the fish meds?
Aye Aye Captain ;)You need to give the meds.
So, I just got the medications. Metroplex and focus. It doesn't say much about it being safe for inverts and corals. Can they eat it as well without being harmed? You need to give the meds.
