Hey Everyone

I am brand new to fish keeping aside from having a freshwater tank growing up 20 years ago. I purchased/setup my 1st (and second) tanks. Still in cycling phase but very excited to learn from everyone here. I will post a build thread for both in the coming weeks. Ending up purchasing a fluval 32.5 Flex first and then a 13.5 evo (long story).

Hello and Welcome to R2R!
I happened to start my saltwater journey with a Fluval Flex 9 gallon! What are your plans for the two tanks?

Thanks! The end goal for the tanks are fish and coral in both. Something like pair of clowns, tailspot blenny, YWG, Firefish and royal gramma in the 32 (if I can get to 6). For the smaller one I want to do a Firefish, pink streaked wrasse and a hi finned goby (again if I can get to 3). Thinking I will upgrade to a bigger tank in the future like an R90 or RS reefer 250.

That sounds like great stocking plans. I've heard Pink streaked wrasses can be bullies, maybe consider a possum wrasse instead? Funny looking little guys, but hey so am I! In all seriousness I have a possum wrasse and loved the little guy!

The biggest problem with more fish isn't generally the number of fish. Its the territory, as long as there is a "home" for everyone they will generally get along. The second issue of having more fish is the nutrients the fish introduce into the aquarium. More fish = more nutrients = more likely hood of pest algae taking root. If you have a plan on how to control higher nutrients, more fish isn't a bad thing.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I love the little caves in the reef scape. A general rule of thumb is: The more places fish have to hide, the less they will feel the need to do so. :)

Depending on which kind of coral you want to keep, you still might want to have some tiny chunks of rock sitting as small "island" somewhere, so corals that will otherwise outgrow everything else on the main rock (green star polyp, Zoas, Xenia, etc.), have a place where they won't bother other corals.
