Invasive blue macro algea

Oh conflicted now. I agree does look nice, especially when I can see so many critters running in and around it. Was so worried it would out compete everything else.
Thanks for all posts, I think I will leave for now, and carry on removing by hand on every clean, to keep under control.
My shrimp do love sitting under it too. No urchin.

Trade it with locals if you don’t want to sell it and ship it. Assuming it is something like blue hypnea, it is fairly valuable.

What is green film algae on the rock? It looks like a little like Ulva

That does look like hypnea pannosa. I have it in my softie/macroalgae tank as well, and while it looks beautiful, it is extremely invasive.
Every tiny piece that breaks off will grow into a new bush.
It's nigh impossible to remove completely once established and can quickly smother corals without regular removal.
I regularly have to free my wavemaker of hypnea, since it smothers that too. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
