hi! i have a 125g. mixed reef tank. my current parameters are as follows; sal.-1.025, phos.-.22, alk.-7.6, nitrate-13.9, cal. 453, ph 7.9. i have been thinking of starting all for reef. is that a good idea or no? i currently do not dose anything. TIA!

Is your tank consuming Alk and Ca? If Alk is being consumed AFR is good product to use to supplement Alk, Ca, Mg and trace elements.

i currently do not dose anything.

But this tells me, maybe not yet.

I agree. If you need alkalinity, AFR is one of a variety of fine choices. If you do not need alkalinity, then it's not appropriate.

thank you! so according to those numbers i shouldnt bother dosing anything? how do i know when to start? i guess when the alk drops?

The numbers you posted are just that, a number. You will need to understand your displays consumption rate over time. Then you can determine if you need to add anything additional.

It could be that your water change schedule is enough. It may not be. Test a couple times a week, at the same time of day, pulling water from the same general area, and plot those numbers out.
