Hey all! As the title says does anyone have any insight on AF containing parasites? I watched a live video with the manufacturer and they said all they do after collecting it is sift it for large particles. They said any treatment would harm the beneficial bacteria so they don’t treat it. I would think it would be unlikely because they also said it is shipped via barge. So the product is fallow for a while. I am just concerned as I paid a lot of money to buy only pre QT fish from Dr. reef and inverts from Dr. Reef and am trying to do everything I can to never introduce parasites. Little concerned there is a small chance AF life source could contain them.

Thanks !

Not likely, imo.

There is a thread on here of folks that use it that may provide more assurance?

There aren't any guarantees, but I'd say it's highly unlikely since the mud has been buried under the sand for a very long time before being excavated. If you're just not comfortable taking the small risk then the risk outweighs the possible reward (which isn't much).
