@DSC reef

I think I know the answer, but I know you can give more insight and ask better questions.

Don't want to take a chance with ammonia produced by it got my money back at least wondering if my emerald crab did it or it took a turn for the worse. Was looking really healthy yesterday reacting to light changes and edges looked good

It did look pretty bad but another day would show for sure. A clam that small, I wouldn't worry about a spike in nutrients. Sorry about your loss. An open incurrent siphon doesn't always mean impending doom but the flesh retracting into the shell/gaping is a tell tale sign of a dying clam. I see new shell growth so even though the clam is in the freezer, see if you can find any pyramid snails on the underside.

The only way possible to save that clam would have required divine intervention, IMO.

My last clam was also a rescue and my prayers did not change the outcome in that instance.

Sorry for your loss.
