Newbie here, is this color changing resin spent in your opinion?

Well, the way to give a real answer is to measure the TDS of the final solution. A cheap TDS meter will give you a real answer better than what a visual guess about the status of your color changing resin.

Mine at home looks “spent” but the TDS meter indicates that the water is still zero and the media does not need to be replaced yet.

$10. Meter, better than guessing what is happening, imo.

I usually change mine when it looks like that, but i run dual stage and can see the second stage starting to turn too. If that is color changing resin, you are nearing the end of effective life

Going off color alone, yes it’s spent. Change it when there is an inch of blue left. When it goes all brown, that’s when it can dump a bunch of the stuff it was holding back into the water
