I'm switching from BRS Soda Ash (sodium carbonate) to sodium hydroxide. In my search I've found "Add 283 grams of sodium hydroxide to 1 gallon of fresh water" so I know the ratio for my next batch.

What I'm missing is a conversion from a sodium carbonate solution to a sodium hydroxide solution. If I currently dose 200ml of sodium carbonate solution daily, what is a good starting point for the sodium hydroxide solution? Is it also 200ml daily?

Thanks in advance, I've been searching so long I'm fatigued by the research. :)

Both of the recipes (soda ash and sodium hydroxide) have the same potency alk wise. It’s just the pH which will be double in the hydroxide (which is good).

Just keep the same dosage. Alk consumption might increase with the elevated pH.

That's exactly that information I was looking for. Thank you
