If it helps it started off as purple flakes on top of the already established coraline.

that's what I thought but I've never seen flatworms in person myself so I didn't want to just assume that.

I don’t know of any surefire ways to kill them but I know certain wrasses will pick at them

I'm going to start siphoning and get the wrasse once I get the population under control.

Good plan. Salifert flatworm exit works well too if they still sell it. But beware of the side effects, not a big deal unless your system is huge.

14g biocube. I've had it for 3 years and never had an issue with flatworms until I started feeding my corals ReefRoids.

Well unless reefroids has flatworm eggs in its ingredients the flatworms were introduced from adding corals or live rock. This why you use dry/dead rock cycled outside of main tank and dip and quarantine corals.

That what I have been doing over the years. I believe the difference is that I have been overfeeding. More food=more flatworms no?

if all flatworms did was eat extra food in the tank no one would be worried about them. They eat coral zoas lps sps they may eat some of the food added but mainly they munch on corals.

Well you are going to take the right steps. Manually remove as much as possible and get a predator of flatworms wrasse,pipefish,nudibrach. In the extreme case they just keep booming then you can go the chemical route though i have no experience with that though im sure there is a sticky or something on how to use chemical warfare. lol

Agreed. Gonna head to my LFS tomorrow and look for a wrasse.

It also depends on what species of flatworms you have. Some will eat corals and some won’t (I believe the white flatworms are harmless)
