Unfortunately, I'm of the opinion that NO used tank is a good deal. I went that route one time only and it started leaking 6 months in. The change from that 75 to a 90 was incredibly stressful.

It depends -- my last 2 tanks were used but I know the previous owner who took great care of it and it was less than a year old. Buying this new would have been cost prohibitive!

Yeah I’ve done used tanks multiple times with success I inspect very carefully and ask a lot of questions! They sure love that.lol
I’ve also learned how to reseal pretty good also

Not to mention scratches.
Many people know it leaks and re-silicone the seams. If you’ve ever seen the damage a leaking tank can cause a house, you’d run far and fast.

I think you should ask & inspect first. It's hard to determine if it's a "good deal" with just the capacity & one picture. If it were me looking at the tank -- I would ask:

1. How old is the tank?
2. If glass (looks like it is), is the seam still good?
3. Can you perform the leak test?
4. Any scratches? You cannot buff out the scratches.
5. Does it come with anything else besides the stand, sump, and plumbing?
6. How much to purchase a new, equivalent setup?

Personally for me, a "good deal" is something that is at least 66% off a new setup.

It’s $4-$5k new, looks like owner had experience, $700 would be considered good, provided it holds water.

Used always had risk but new tanks have issues as well. Always some risk.

I bought my 180g used for $1K but was subject to water test.

5 years old now. Zero problems.

The tank was bought new in 2019 and was setup for 4 years and shut down last summer.

Would most sellers do a water test for that size would you normally pay extra to see a leak test? He says they are in great shape but obviously he’s not gonna say they aren’t

He said that there are very minor scratches and with water you won’t even be able to tell
