How long have you had them?
It's possible they are compatible when young and aggressive when they mature.
Yes, hitchhikers on a shipment from Tampa Bay Salt Water premium live rocks. I have had them for 2.5 years. They were tiny at first. Took a while to even notice them. Now they are maybe 2 inches across. They do jostle a little bit for prime territory. Mostly just claw waving. I believe I have even observed them mating.

My guess is probably because they are a different species than the normal one and they were together when the were young.
Probably also lots of places for territory as well.
