Goniopora got stung by green hairy mushroom a few days ago, looked good (as in no brown stuff) up until today.

It’s not slimy or stringy like how bjd is. It seems to be set in place and even has a sort of texture to it, similar to the skeleton.

Is this a protective coat..? Shining a blue light in there I can see some of the green tissue left under the brown coat, just retracted.

I’m strictly no bjd and if it really is bjd this fella is already dead.

Agreed, I cannot make out goni with this pic.

Have you moved it so it cannot get stung again? Stressed critters often take a while to come back out of hiding.
Yes, we got rid of the urchin and secured the ghm to a rock.

It was two of them that got stung.

Do you have a picture in regular light?

The coral doesn’t even look like a goniopora…
Haha my bad. I was staring at it for so long it looked distinguishable. I can see how that’s hard to see haha

Looks like it’s some sort of coat
That’s not brown jelly.

Your Goni is dead in those spots and is being covered in algae (diatoms)

Goni don’t get BJD

Upon closer inspection, the flesh isn’t dead yet on some spots so might not be algae, but the flesh is definitely on the brink and deteriorating (and turning brown)

Alright I’m going to baste that stuff off rn. looks like a coat is forming over the remaining flesh.

Also I think gonis can get bjd

I think you may be right; was not aware gonis could get them. I think it is very rare though.

But yeah that Goni is struggling massively. I would take some drastic measures
