I recently brought a Duncan. I remembered that it was short . It seems that it’s extending for light. Is that the reason ? Should I bump up my settings?

I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes you end up causing a problem when there is none. I’ve done it many times. You think hmm I should bump up the light. Then you end up bleaching or hurting all the corals. I’d wait cuz it looks fine.

I chased mine - putting in different locations in the tank to try and make it happy. Finally settled on lower third for light and moderate flow. Its been there for 2 months now and is finally opening up. My advice- pick a spot and leave it be for a while- I think moving it around is more stressful than letting it acclimate to a spot. Read a post - couldn't find it now- that it took a year for a duncan to finally open and be happy. Good luck with it!
