So I saw two fish just like this in my LFS and never got a picture to ask for what’s the difference in these two Midas blennies. I saw this on LA and noticed that they look just like the ones I saw in the LFS. One looks like a regular Midas blenny and the other one I saw was perched on the substrate not moving a whole lot while not looking sick from what I could see and it was a darker color. I know Midas’ change color when they’re stressed but I’m unsure if this is a stress color or if it’s another variation or ones healthy and ones sick

are these two different variations of healthy Midas’?

This is a duplicate post because the one I made earlier didn’t have any traction

a good way to tell is by observing their breathing pattern,, when they are perched its not sideways on the sand bed. i would believe that its a sick fish.. color is change is from stress.

don't forget that they use toxins in the water to stun these fish to float out of the corals and rocks from hiding,, there is no other way to catch them.
