broke my big skimmer. You can see an intact motor and it’s attachment and then the broken one . Can not find any parts for the skimmer so not sure what I can do. It’s a beast so want to salvage it if possible. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you,
Jim

Acrylic cement maybe? Not sure if it would bond strong enough tho..

Can the plastic part that cut off come out?

It is hard for me to tell. Is the housing on the body of the skimmer the part that cracked off with the motor?

that looks like acrylic pipe . if so you can use any acrylic solvent to repair it.. If its ABS They make solvent for that as well. This stuff welds the parts back together , I would not recommend a adhesive unless you cant find proper solvent ..

The other option is get a bore bit and drill it our and insert a new pipe.... This will take a bit more skill and best done on a drill press ..

Good Luck . but for sure its repairable....

Acrylic solvent should repair it fairly easily. I would use weld on 16. Seperate the bulkhead from the pump. Apply to the break and reattach. After it sets up for 24 hours I would apply a bead of weldon around the outside to build up a fillet and reinforce the joint.
The only way to make it as strong as it was before would be to remove the broken piece and replace it.
