Is this Ich on my PBT?

As stated many times in this thread. Once it shows up (ich that is) all fish will eventually get it. The immune system of fish can be different from fish to fish, and even within the same breed of fish. Had two yellow tangs in my brothers tank, ich came in, one yellow got it. Then went away by itself, then the other fish in the tank ended up with ich, along side the second yellow I had in the tank. But the first fish I saw the ich on never got it again. I even got it on video when it put all the fish out of that tank into QT. Fact remains eventually it will spread to all fish and will give you bigger headaches having to keep pulling fish out one by one.

Also remember the minute you add a new fish to the QT it restarts your QT finish time frame.

thanks @winxp_man for your reflection on this.. to eradicate ich, I am going hypo in my DT, since I didnt have a lot of corals / inverts.. My question is more about the bacterial infection (bubble eyes) I am seeing in a few of the fish

It’s why I like QT tanks. When I ended up with secondary issues, I would just add the plex family of meds by seachem. They have yet to let me down. Including eye issues for fights or damage or disease. Don’t mix them all at the same time.

The reason I’m bringing this up is besides WC is a thing that is a must with QT tanks. So you always end up with clean water in the tank. Dirty water is what I see brings out bacterial issues vs anything else.

@Jay Hemdal tired of white spots, I have decided to go hypo in my DT.. I have moved corals to a hospital tank, there are no inverts in my tank.. I am at 1.012 today (2nd day), tomorrow will reach 1.009 value.. Question though, I see Bubble eyes on my blue tang, File Fish and 2 of the 3 Pajama Cardinals.. Reading your previous comments on similar posts, this seems to be bacterial which wont be eradicated by hypo and needs separate treatment.. Shall I dose Kanaplex in DT or do you suggest anything else in the display? Also what dose do you recommend? Here are couple of pics of Cardinals

The eye issues on the cardinal fish is due to advanced ich, I can’t see the clownfish clearly, but it’s likely the same for them. There may not be a bacterial component to this.
All ich treatments take time to work - 3 to 5 days in the case of hypo. Fish with advanced ich infections may just not have that much time, fingers crossed!

I have to say copper will help out better vs hypo timing wise. Especially if the gills are attacked in a real bad way.

thanks both of you.. @Jay Hemdal I am at 2nd day of Hypo.. I see eyes of the cardinals looking better, not perfectly healed yet.. I see Blue tang still has cloudy eyes and feels like its impacting its vision a lot since I saw it try to bite at Nori a few times from 1-2 cms away.. Also, I see this white thing on my clown's body.. is that normal during hypo or something that needs to be treated?

That mucus on the clownfish could be from the ich parasite, but it also looks like Brooklynella. Is the clownfish eating? Is it swimming properly, or does it seem “stiff”?

just noticed the same on the other clown as well.. both were eating fine in the morning..Black storm went into hiding, Oscellaris seems to be swimming ok, will keep an eye on ther swimming and eating behavior

Clowns seem to be ok, but I see a cardinal with 1 cloudy eye and a big white spot under the fin.. it maybe from an injury as I read a few posts that says infection is usually in both eyes.. @Jay Hemdal anything you can tell from these pics what it is?

If just one eye is cloudy, that’s usually a sign of an injury.

So none of the clowns have spots or mucus on them now?

Anything I can do treat the eye in DT during hypo? or just wait it out?

Both Clowns look ok, still 1-2 very small spots, but nothing major.. not sure if after 10 days its expected to see any kinda spots on them though.. Salinity is at 1.009 consistently

If it’s just a minor injury, I wouldn’t try to treat it. This can take some time to heal - a month sometimes.

hello @Jay Hemdal , I see blood spot under one of the yellow tang's right fin.. I dont think its Uronema, but wanted to confirm with you since Uronema apparently is common during Hypo.. here is a small video:

I’ve never seen Uronema in YT and I’ve never seen it at the base of a fin like that. That said, other than an injury, I don’t know what would cause this.
