Its sorta coming off but not sure how hard to be yanking on this thing.
Wild question but what about one of those camping wire saw things to just floss across the top of the glass or am I crazy

You should be taking it off piece by piece; very methodically sliding a hobby razor along both faces of the glass to cut a majority of the silicone holding the plastic down free from the glass!
A wire saw will be likely to damage the glass edges! — this process is painstaking, use a hacksaw with a fine tooth metal blade to carefully cut the plastic into short segments if need be, but be very cautious not to cut the glass!

You will want to scrape excess silicone off the glass using a razor blade, then clean the glass well with isopropyl alcohol (not acetone) to ensure that the new plastic adheres well!
— ASI 502 aquarium silicone sealant is a reliable bet for this application, you might want two tubes just in case you run out before your perimeter bead is complete!

Before I pull the trigger on this , a 2 piece frame shouldn’t make a difference in structural integrity right? And 72x18 is the standard glass size for a 125 not including the rim right ? Feel like they must have had this issue in the past to put that notice haha
It should be fine. You have the two cross braces plus the glass cross braces. Just use plenty of silicone. But as always, test in the garage or outside for a few days first.
I'm sure they're just careful in communicating to let you know that it's all on you if it doesn't work out. Pretty standard.

Do they indicate where the two pieces of this frame seam together? That’s a bit odd…
This is a standard dimension, but your tank should be double checked to ensure it isn’t 1/4” larger or smaller, just in case!

That thing would be sitting on the curb waiting to be picked up by the trash man before I'd fill it with water and set it in my house. To me, it looks like they cut the original bracing either before filling or after it was already filled... went "whoops"... and added that thin strip AFTER it was already bowing.
That strip was likely straight/flat when they tried fixing their screw up, and once the tank was emptied, the glass relaxed and now that brace is bowed instead. They probably even got rid of it for "a great deal" because they no longer trusted it themselves.

Hey man. Just getting back to this project. Measuring up this tank and does in fact seem to be a quarter inch longer width ways…
(Measuring from one inch, maybe a 1/8 inch off the actual width it was hard getting a photo)
Length seems to be dead on at 72 inches. The website states it won’t fit anything over 18 inches wide but I’m debating if I should just roll the dice and see. Have you ever had this issue and made it work ? I emailed the company for their opinion but figured I might as well ask you too haha

Hmm… is the top frame returnable? If so, I’d give it a try!
Otherwise, eurobracing is an option, albeit a much more challenging one!

It is not returnable, I’m trying to see if they will throw me a bone since I’m sort of close to their building but not sure yet. I really want to just try it but it seems like they’ve maybe had someone in my shoes before and it didn’t work out lol.

This is an ideal scenario, you might be able to measure for yourself!
You’d likely need to trim down to overflow boxes in height to make a eurobrace fit around the top, then there’s the sheer cost of thick glass… it’s definitely more in-depth than just slapping a new top rim on the tank!
