Hello everyone, so about 3 days ago I noticed on my female clown she was getting transparent on her top fin. And while feeding her today I noticed she seems to be more transparent. She's been acting like her goofy self eating and being the queen and her partner is showing no signs of illness. Can anyone chim in on this? I love my little guys and am beginning to stress

Normal old age for clownfish is 10+ years. Has there been any change in the relationship between the two clowns?

To be honest with you it seems like my female went from being a bully to the male to sharing the anemone. Not that she was ever that bad to begin with

I just see what seems to be fin damage and missing scales. That is often caused by fighting, and less often, is a sign of contagious disease. Is the female worsening? Any symptoms on the male yet?

Visually she's getting worse, but still eating everything I put in the tank and still being dominant. I truly don't believe it's from fighting, my other clown is VERY submissive. Of course I could always be wrong. However my other clown is having white discharge. I treated using metroplex+kanaplex+focus as well as general cure+focus. It has never gone away, only lessend. However that was months ago (the other clown; not the one in the picture) and I stopped treating after I felt I was doing more damage to his digestive tract than anything. Is it possible these two are connected? Months down the road? I'd also like to add I added 4 turbo snails without qt (I know it was a terrible idea I've lost sleep over already) approx. 3 weeks ago. It's a possibility they brought something into the system.

The male is showing no similar symptoms in a visual comparison.

Will try to get photo.

Thank you so kuch for your interest in helping me

The turbo snails could be a vector, but I would expect both fish to have symptoms by now. I am not a fan of using focus to bind medication as the dose is completely uncontrolled, that said, issues with that won’t show up months later.
Try to get a new photo, and please tag me so I don’t miss it.

@Jay Hemdal here are some pics

Hopefully they accurately represent the issue. She looks transparent in certain areas

Nothing similar on the male.?

Well, I've got nothing. It's been a week now, and Amyloodinium and Brooklynella would have killed the fish by this time. The fish does seem worse though.

Focus is widely touted, but really, it can't work except by accident. The instructions says bind the medication of your choice with focus 5:1 (never mind that different medications have different dosages!) then "mix it with food". How much food? 10 grams, 10 pounds? Then, the actual bottle says use a 1:1 ratio....what?

Here is an article I wrote on medicated foods - but I warn you, doing it right is not easy!

Thank you so much for all of your input. I really can't state how much I appreciate you taking the time out of your day, and I'll certainly be giving that a read! Hopefully it's something she can fight through or isn't serious. For what it's worth too I've been feeding them TDO chroma boost and PE mysis soaked in selcon and vita-chem so hopefully diet can be ruled out. If anything major changes I'll update this thread for the next person that comes upon this look for an answer.

Wish me luck

It could be Neobenedenia, but seems kind of small (could be a young worm). More likely, it is just a pump on the eye. I would just watch it for now, as the next step would be a freshwater dip, and you don't want to go that route unless you have a clearer idea that flukes are actually the issue (due to the stress of the dip).
