Hello from South Houston!
Im new to R2R, but have has reef aquariums for about 10 years now. Started with a 45g tank with HOB skimmer and a external filter until 2 tears ago and upgraded to a 90 show tank (short and wide) with a sump below the tank. My tank is mixed reef with only soft corals. I like to buy unique frags so I don’t usually know what they are and have had most good success. That being said, I seem to have trouble with some types of coral while other grow crazy. Fish are never a problem, usually living quite long and sometimes getting to big for the tank (give them back to the local store). My question is since I really don’t know what the name of some of the corals, if I posted a picture on this website of the coral I’m having trouble with, are their users experienced enough to 1) identify the coral, and 2) help name figure out why the coral isn’t doing well? And yes, I measure many parameters and add chemicals as needed (pH, Mg, NO, temp, salt, Kh, PO, Ca); I doRO/DI water changes every week (no refugium), so I’m thinking it must something that I don’t know about. THANKS!!
