It split but I only want one!

My Rbta that is over a year old spilt last night. Two questions. 1 how long after splitting is it ok to remove one? 2 best way to detach from the rock. Before and after I know is hard to see the spilt but there is two separate feet now.

Don't feed it for the 2wks either. Don't be surprised if you notice it goes missing for a few days. They like to hide after a split. Ice works, also a powerful flow will cause it to move for you. Good luck!
