Episode 7 Rachel GIF by Friends
I'll talk with the husband. That way he understands why piglet needs a new home. Get some coral ready this weekend, Plenty of gingers/tinjas and some other stuff. I know you said may, but they could use the time.
I am hoping by the weekend dinos are pushed back far enough coral can handle fragging.

No pics right now, sometime later.

need calcium, ph and new alk test kit. Sometime this weekend.
For now,
Phosphates .05, Alk 8.6. nitrates 5, magnesium 1360-1380, calc ??, ph ??
This is what impulse buying does, you skip out on tests and get a coral... That's me...

Got AFR dosing at 100m a day. High isn't it?
Was doing 80 per day, alk dropped from 10.2 to 8.6 in 1 night.
I am also currently dosing diy ammonium chloride. Nitrates bottomed out. Phosphates are low yet still. 30ml solution throughout the day. 10ml in morning, after lunch and before lights out.

This has brought nitrates up from 0 to 5 according to salifert test. I stopped dosing the neonitro because I ran out. I don't have a calcium test kit to see where those numbers are at.

As for the dinos, the texture of the slim looks like its breaking down. I haven't syphoned them out for a few days, time to go in and get the rest of what I can see out. They have not grow in number, but are declining.

I will take pics before I do. As the snot looks in poor health and has been declining.
I'm near 40mL for my 40g, so I'd say you're not far off. It's not a cost-effective solution, but it really seems to keep the corals happy. My Alk is consistently in the 7 range, and once it starts dropping I have to raise the dose again.

With the dosing of ammonium, everyone is getting hungrier as well. Including fish... WHY? My eel is eating more, coral are eating more. Alk consumption has dramatically increased. I am currently monitoring alk like a hawk now. :(

Man, I can't get anything figured out. I might go back to kalk in a gallon jug.

I did that back in 2010. just added a cup of kalk to a gallon jug and let it drip. Used it as an ATO...... If I could fit that in the sump.... I'd have to make a plan.

AFR is expensive... ;(

Lou mentioned yesterday that 5 gallon buckets will be hitting the states soon at $495 a bucket! That’s really not a bad price at all if you buy bulk like that.. the little quart size bucket costs $75 :frowning-face:

I definitely wont be doing bulk any time soon. I hate how prices have gone up. My last afr jug (800g) was 49.

Yeah, my problem is if I buy one I’ll just use it by itself since I have so much haha! The bucket price is half the price of buying little ones.. when it comes available I think I’ll hit up a couple locals and just do like a group buy and everyone chip in $100 for a gallon which is a smoking deal! That would make it like $25 a quart.

It’s good stuff, I swear by it and never had a tank run so effortlessly myself.. Watch your alk and everything else stays inline.. even has trace elements which makes for less water changes.
