So some interesting things I never took pics of on how the tank went over the winter.

I am going to assume I always and I mean always had dinos in my tank. I do not know which strain. They just freely lived in the water column causing my water to be brown. I always wondered why everyone has such vivid blue looking systems and mine is brown tinted with every water change.

Those who know when I had my baby, dinos took over my system, my goniopora flourished. My sps took a nose dive with a single frag survivor I still have today.

Once I was able to get back up on my feet, and start working on the tank again. Balancing out nitrates and phosphates. Over the winter There were sheets of slime peeling off of my glass and rocks. The water became pristine. Clear as I would hope to ever achieve. This caused issues in my green goni. She has receeded and I can't seem to figure out how to help her. The pink goni is fine and still growing. I have had to turn the lights down. As hammers and one sps i have bleached very bad leaving tip burns. Lights have been dialed down from 75% to 35%.
I have been dosing manganese at 4 ml a day. I wonder if it might be too little...

so home tests have been at
sg 1.026
calc 500
nitrates 25
phosphates under .5
dkh 10
magnesium 1500 ish give or take 20

My impulse to buy list
Australomussa, i hardly ever see them in the hobby. Are they that complicated and delicate?

Than says if they are happy, they grow quick. But I hardly see any porst on them.


He had some nice meats. So I am torn between attempting australomussa, or going into acanthros or trying a cynarina again.

Passed up 3 amazingly healthy beautiful anthias for 12+ free stomatella snails and
3 very bad pictures.

So store owner was confused on this acantho.
Its an indophyllia 100% also does not have the teeth of acanthos. The skeleton is more like a smoother ball shape as well. Very interesting coral

Bad news.
Took out the green goni for a iodine dip. So much flesh came off. I dont think shes going to make it this time. My oldest coral survived all kinds of events. Now it's probably goodbye.



Now the rest of the reefing news.

Switched places. Indo was inflating and did not enjoy the shade from the ledge

Mo ed the war coral on the rocks. I dont think it will encrust over sand. So i need to figure out where to place.

Oh goni by the snail. Pushed off mount onto sand. I failed to notice. Damage was done. Due to lack of attention.

Too bad that chocolate tang is spitting sand all over the new cynarina I have. I don't know why she's doing that BULL SKIM!

I remember those dots on shrooms. Looks like flatworms. Do you see them move around? Do you have a wrasse that eats flatworms? When I was starting, I thought it was cool until they took over the tank. Needed Flatworm Exit to eradicate them.

I know where the flatworms are. Those are the blue/purple dots. The half blue ring is a growth.

Right flatworm exit has been administrated. So far, half the flatworms I have seen have floated off into the water. Others are zooming around non stop being very uncomfortable. So, I am at 150% dose recommendation. The fish have shown no ill side effects. Carbon is not running yet. But, I also don't know when the best time to add the carbon is.

I went with flatworm exit because, I couldn't find any arrow crabs and i didnt' want to order fish. :\

I have a few lbs ready to go. So far no ill signs from fish. But

There are a lot of flatworms dead stuck to my cynarina. I've been trying to remove them so she dont eat them.

Manually removed bubble algae from the frogspawn frag.


My phytho crabs have given me the claw.


Manually removing any flatworm i see.
Someone.... is giving me false hope.


I did around 35 to 40% water change last night.

Phosphates went under .1 so argh....
