My JF JoL lepto is receding. Does anyone know what might be causing this???

Before (it had already started to recede at this point):

O ya, it is currently in a low flow area with moderately "low" lighting. I even added an overhang above it to block off some lighting.
 
Have you had any fluctuations with your water parameters? A few months ago I had crazy Alk swings and I lost 75% of mine. Once I got that stabilized the lepto has come back stronger than ever.

I have been trying to get my alk up to 9. but I've only gone from 7-8.5dkh in a little over a week.
