Haha I hear you for sure. I got one of the first models and just hated it, I had to clean it every few months just to keep it working. I got a wave puck and don’t have to clean them but once a year. I really like the wide flow pattern on it and it’s to bad it didn’t do well and they stopped making them I think. The reefbreeders pump is similar but doesn’t push water like the wavepuck. I like the jeabo pumps but everyone I had eventually lost its gitty up and I wouldn’t notice til it was effecting the corals.
I’ll have to check those out! Once I got the jebao making random flow the response in certain acro’s was almost immediate increased pe, and some things that had never grown in 18 months budded new tips within a week aka the paletta pink tip! I’ve always been a believe in random flow. It’s a beautiful thing to watch multiple sources of water flow meet and crash forcing downward flow. It’s how I manage to hit the hard to reach corals. Something about polyps fluttering and dancing makes me happy haha. I originally purchased the gyre 230 kit with an additional 230. Right at the one year mark the 2nd pump died hint the addition of the jebao.

Tank looks nice. Glad to see you didnt give up. Lots of good looking coral there.
Me too I mean I’ve had most of this stuff for a good minute now it’s hard just to walk away. I still got a long road ahead slowly trying to solve all my problems lol. My biggest concern is I’m moving at the end of October partially why I broke overhauled without much hesitation on top the stn issue to get to a place it would come part and back together easily. I have get everything buttoned up pretty quickly to allow heal time so they can be strong for all the stress that comes with a move. Luckily I paid it forward when I originally built this system all the plumbing comes of completely with the unions I wanted to be plug and play. I just keep trying to forget I’m moving

Doing another over 6x standard treatment of interceptor today/tonight. I starting to get concerned about my WD this past week since the overhaul it just appeared to irritated and pe is about 50%. I’ve haven’t had the bugs on it before they seemed to ignore it in the past. Upon extremely thorough examination it was infested with a ton of small bugs I immediately crushed up 3 medium chews 11.5mg each got that going at 3. I’ll be up until 4 am or screw it all night lol. This time since everything lost color already I’m going to 2 or 3 treatments to follow up we’ll see I’m hope a week apart the pc rainbow and big orange tipped Aussie colonies get hit hard it really depends on their rebound. While it’s not cause of stn and what not the bugs definitely compromise them. Making them more susceptible the everything. I really need to once and for all bite the bullet try my hardest to win the battle the rate at which they colonize now I mean it’s unsettling how significant the progression is. All I’ve done thus far is made more resistant to interceptor making these pest harder to kill.

The pictures were taken the morning after the 6x interceptor more like 7x lol. My corals don’t even flinch anymore they seem to enjoy the beef flavoring. Visible bugs cleared follow ups taking place every weekend for the next 3 weeks. The WD half way through the treatment had it full PE after bugs fell off all’s good.

Stn still continues on torts and my big fox flame even despite it’s eruption of new growth.

Brings me to this : I keep seeing people saying chemiclean seems to stop it? I’ve seen this posted Mamoths thread here R2R and few others. I already brandnew box ready to go. Thoughts and general experience using it!? Please lol cyano’s never been a problem for the first time it started to pop up when stn started happening sooo...

You should add some kind of bacteria. Like nitrobac or something from algea barn. Kinda like anti biotic. You kill off the good with the bad.

I started chemiclean treatment with the hopes that it will kill whatever bacteria’s causing the stn as others have experienced. Now we pray to coral gods and wait .

Good luck my friend.

Thanks every little bit helps! I have a few people awaiting my finds hopefully something positive will magically works way in finally. Either I’m excited I’m finally get all crazy interceptor treatments (6-7x dosage) knocked out. Honestly my corals strong little turds I feel I’m on cusp of beating both battles!

Not sps related but I took small 3-4 polyp frags of
Mohican suns, utter chaos’s, and scrambled eggs home to my tank got them out of customers tank today. Since that god awful filefish pretty much ate my entire collection my tank never looked the same. He carpet surfer a few weeks ago so pleased lol. In a rage I had thrown some frag plugs with basically patches of what once was nicer zoas, well I long forgot about them until the overhaul when I cleaned out the sump. Anyways the managed to come back in sump with no light 3 months no prefect the ways sunny d’s, spitfires, and some insane pink ones best rash decision and loss of memory I’ve had in recent history haha. Any ways I glued them down tonight I can’t wait to let them grow in :).
