Its a beautiful piece and the prices are coming down from what JF wanted the first time I saw it at a swap. It's one of those corals that you put in your tank and then step back and say "hmmm, now everything else in my tank looks like crap next to it"

This is after it was cut about six times according to Steven from Reefers Direct. Basically the blue is new growth and when it matures a little it turns purple. The pinks are there :D

Heres a walt for comparison

Yup. I saw the op frag. And it's freaking awesome. Definitely looks better than what I thought it would.

Someone already won the lottery. They pulled that gem out and started selling small pieces.

I see it as an investment. Pay a grand for a frag. Grow it out for a little while. Then sell a few frags for half of the original price since it will have been out for a little while. Double your money and invest in the next hot new kid on the block.

This colony was too low for awhile, it was moved up recently, and you can see the pinks starting to come out
Since the move, has the frag got upset? Im still caught up on wether i should mount it or not

It did not seem to phase it. The one thing I will say about this coral, since dealing with it, making a couple micro frags, ect...is it seems tough as nails...the first frag I started with was super tiny, and was the middle piece, cut on both sides, and turned into the colony pic I posted, so I think as long as yours is actively encrusting, you should be fine.

A beautiful coral that grows fairly quick and is very hardy.

Looking forward to getting a frag in about a year.

Nice pictures......
Would like to see a full grown colony of that species!!!!

That might take a few years if people can keep it for long enough with no accident :-)

There are plenty of pictures of grown out tenuis' out there, its not a hard coral to find. If you mean of this variation then yes, you may have to wait a little bit lol

Yes, I mean larger colonies that that mini colony on the website ;-)

I own a couple different Tenuis colonies and they do vary quite well with growth pattern when they get into the 4-8inch sizes.

This particular one must look breathtaking in that size.

Too bad no one will have pictures of this case ever, since they will frag it.
