triton67, interesting setup. Seems really simple but will be effective. Can you post a pic of the exit plumbing on the brute ATS? Also, how do you determine the flow? I'm very intrigued, and considering making my own diy ATS...just on a smaller scale as my DT is just a 75gal. Thanks!

Look at the start of this post. That's a smaller version. My Dt is a 90 and a 50 gal sump

I fig since I alread had the brute I wold try it. Might be overkill. And the flow rate I'm just gonna play with and see what works best

Exit plumbing is 2 3/4 pvc pipes down into the sump. 1 about an inch from the bottom of the brute. The other above the bottom drain. Just in case bottom one gets clogged

I friend suggested I seed it with some hair Alge. Said it would take off faster

Did you rough the screen up? If not, its supposed to make a HUGE difference if you do.

Haha! I hear ya, man. I'm hoping they ship soon.

Not sure how much flow you guys are putting across your screens, but you should have at least 35GPH per inch of screen across. Example if screen measures from side to side 10 inches then you need 350GPH feeding it. That would be minimum flow. Down length of screen means nothing.

I have plenty on mine. I had to throttle the outlet back
