Howdy,

I have had 3 fish in my frag tank for several months now no issues. I have a nice homemade screen lid to contain fish from jumping. It's not perfect but it helps for sure..

Last 5 days ive had two fish jump.. they've both landed in the same spot and I'm confused as to how it's happened. One a six line wrasse and one a damsel - didn't even know they did jump...

Anyways here's the spot I have to fill - give me good easy ideas

Small piece of eggcrate. Are you talking about the area around the pipe?

ALL FISH JUMP! Sorry about the fish, they find the smallest of holes it seems. It doesn't take much for a fish to be spooked and fly right out of your tank. It can be from someone walking into the room, pump turning on/off, etc. They really don't need an excuse. I have a custom lid on my tank and I can hear the splashing from a fish trying to jump from another room, although one of my flasher wrasses is pretty flighty. Just assume all fish jump and you'll never have this problem again.
Even with my lid, I've had two of my wrasses bounce off of my chest when I was feeding the tank (only lifting the lid slightly).
